MICO-LEÃO-DOURADO // Fauna Brasiliense
Illustrated poster
It is the third illustrated poster of the serie Fauna Brasiliense and it is my simple tribute to the beings who are the true guardians of the Brazilian forests and who, because of so much hate and bitterness, are becoming extinct.
Since the 70s, the Mico-leão-dourado / Golden-lion-tamarin (Leontopithecus rosalia) has been one of the symbols of the struggle for the conservation of biological diversity.
The devastation of the Atlantic Forest almost exterminated the entire population of golden-lion-tamarins. With the intense occupation of the coastal zone in the state, accompanied by logging and agricultural activities, and the consequent destruction of the forest.
* Size: average of 59 cm
* Weight: from 500g to 700g, being the largest of its kind.
